Question 1

What's the difference between a personal account and a kennel?

Accepted Answer

A personal account is for your own dogs: their profile, health, pedigree and the people you share them with. A kennel is a shared account for breeders: team members with roles, a logo, breeding cycles, litters, contacts, the waiting list and listings.

Question 2

Do I need a kennel to use Faunak?

Accepted Answer

No. A personal account is enough to add your dog, keep its health records and pedigree, and share it with other people. A kennel account is only for breeders who run a kennel.

Question 3

How do I create a kennel account?

Accepted Answer

After signing up, click “Add a kennel” in the account switcher in the app. Then invite family members or co-workers by email and give each of them a role.

Question 4

Can I run my kennel together with other people?

Accepted Answer

Yes. You invite family members or co-workers to your kennel and give them roles. You can share dogs with co-owners from other kennels, and each side sees only what they have access to.

Question 5

My dog is already in Faunak. Should I add it again?

Accepted Answer

No. When you add a dog, Faunak looks for similar dogs that are already in the database. Ask to join the existing profile and choose your role - the current owner accepts the request, and you see the same history.

Question 6

My breeder doesn't use Faunak. What then?

Accepted Answer

Add the dog yourself. You can enter its registrations, parents and health tests, and if your breeder joins later, you can connect the dog with their kennel.

Question 7

Does Faunak work for a kennel registered with ZKwP / the FCI?

Accepted Answer

Yes, the app was built for purebred dog breeding. You can record pedigree and kennel club registration numbers and health tests (HD/ED, genetic tests and more), and follow the whole breeding path - from heat and ovulation, through matings, to the birth of a litter. PDF reports, including ZKwP litter registration, are in the works.

Question 8

Can I delete a dog?

Accepted Answer

Yes, if you are its only owner, you can delete the dog from its profile.

Question 9

Which health tests can I record?

Accepted Answer

Orthopedic (HD/ED), eye, heart, hearing, genetic, dental, infectious disease, reproductive and clinical tests - each with the result, lab and certificate number.

Question 10

Will Faunak remind me about vaccinations?

Accepted Answer

When you record a vaccination or deworming, Faunak fills in the next due date for you. Notifications before the date are coming soon.

Question 11

How does Faunak work out the mating window?

Accepted Answer

Log the heat and progesterone or LH results on the breeding cycle. Once you enter the ovulation date, Faunak calculates the optimal mating window, and from the dam's history it forecasts her next heat.

Question 12

What if a mating fails? Does the system end up with a “ghost” litter?

Accepted Answer

Never. Faunak doesn't make you create litters “in the dark”. You run a flexible breeding cycle, logging heat, ovulation and mating dates. If the dam turns out not to be pregnant, you close the cycle with one click. A litter only enters the database once puppies are actually born.

Question 13

How does Faunak handle co-ownership and dogs placed on breeding terms?

Accepted Answer

It's one of our strengths. Roles are assigned directly to the animal: the owner has full breeding rights, the co-owner co-manages the health and breeding profile, the guardian on breeding terms handles day-to-day care without breeding rights, and the breeder is the person or kennel the dog comes from. A role can belong to a person or to another kennel.

Question 14

How do I hand a puppy over to its new owner?

Accepted Answer

Invite the new owner by email from the dog's profile. Once they accept from their own account, the dog moves to them with its full history, and you can stay on as a co-owner.

Question 15

Who can see my dog's data?

Accepted Answer

Only you and the people or kennels you give a role on the dog. In the visibility settings you decide what other kennels see when they add your dog as a sire or a parent. Notes and documents are never shared.

Question 16

Are my data, test results and breeding plans safe?

Accepted Answer

Yes. Medical records, notes and breeding plans are private - only members of your kennel and people you give a role on a specific dog can see them. Data travels over an encrypted connection and is stored with a trusted infrastructure provider. You can further protect your account with two-factor authentication (2FA) or a passkey.

Question 17

I'm not a tech person. Can I manage this from my phone?

Accepted Answer

If you can send a message or use Facebook, you can use Faunak. The app runs in your browser - on a computer, tablet or phone, with nothing to install - and its interface is clear and comfortable to use with your finger: in the kennel, at the vet's or at a show.

Question 18

How much does it cost?

Accepted Answer

A personal account for dog owners is free.

Question 19

Do prices include VAT?

Accepted Answer

No, prices are shown excluding VAT. Tax is added to the payment as required by law.

Question 20

When does the trial start?

Accepted Answer

On the day you create your kennel. The standard trial lasts 30 days, and kennels created during a promotion get a longer one.

Question 21

Do I need to add a card?

Accepted Answer

No. You create a personal account without a card, and a kennel adds one only when its trial is ending. The first payment is due after the trial ends.

Question 22

Do I pay for each team member?

Accepted Answer

No. The price is for the whole kennel, however many people work in it.

Question 23

Can I switch from monthly to yearly?

Accepted Answer

Yes, in the payment portal in your kennel's billing settings. The difference is prorated.

Question 24

Where do I find invoices?

Accepted Answer

Invoices for every payment are in the payment portal in your kennel's billing settings. Businesses can enter their VAT number at checkout.

Question 25

How do I cancel my plan?

Accepted Answer

Open the payment portal in your kennel's billing settings and cancel the plan. Your kennel works until the end of the paid period and then becomes read-only. Your data stays.
