Faunak or a spreadsheet?
A spreadsheet is free and familiar, and fine for a simple list of dogs. As the kennel grows, you start missing calculations, teamwork and a history on every dog.

When a spreadsheet stops being enough
Most kennels start with Excel or Google Sheets, and that's a good start.
You calculate everything yourself. The mating window, due date and next heat are calculated by hand, or by formulas you have to look after.
File versions. A file sent by email, or shared with everyone with full access.
Awkward on a phone. At the whelping box or at the vet's, a wide table is hard to use.
